The strength of our economy depends on an educated populace and workforce. Matching education to individuals’ aptitudes and interests while filling needs in the economy maximizes its economic utility. Therefore, every student should have access to the education most suitable to them and have the freedom to choose that path. However, choice and access alone are not sufficient without outcomes-based accountability for educators. Education policy must therefore prioritize choice, access, and outcomes. Success means prioritizing students and creating a workforce capable of meeting the needs of the economy.
