Director of Community Engagement

 

The Director of Community Engagement has experience in events, marketing, development, and public policy. He or she has strong process and organizational skills, and is responsible for community engagement in Colorado. Other duties include fundraising support, design, membership engagement, general office management, government affairs support and administrative support. Collaborating with Common Sense Institute leadership and other support staff to determine, define, organize and implement various procedures and policies. The position reports to the Executive Director of Colorado. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Community Engagement: Supports strategic engagement with donors, members, and community members.
  • Ensures that content follows a consistent tone and adheres to brand standards. Content includes but is not limited to: collateral, event copy, emails, fundraising campaigns and letters.
  • Oversees  mail outreach to community members.
  • Manages the CSI membership program by engaging and communicating with current members. Prospects and solicits new members.
  • Invites members to CSI events.
  • Sends reports to CSI members.
  • Ensures member benefits have been fulfilled.
  • Events: Responsible for planning, executing, and follow up strategies around all CSI events, this includes:
  • Member and donor events
  • Free Enterprise Cabinet events
  • Legislative events
  • Outreach: Manages speaking engagements for fellows and staff. Provides collateral, powerpoints, and other event support. Manages fundraising campaigns in partnership with CSI leadership.
  • Manages speaking engagement process.
  • Tracks speaking engagements in Airtable (project management software)
  • Manages and supports the Colorado Gives Day campaign.
  • Operations Support: Provides administrative support for general operations, community engagement, event management, and board governance.
  • Writes anniversary cards for staff, happy birthday cards, etc.
  • Tracks content, speaking engagments and other metrics in Airtable
  • Updates Salesforce with donor information as needed
  • Books event space and catering for in-person events
  • Takes board minutes for the Colorado Board meeting
  • Other administrative duties to maintain operations of office, as needed

 

MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience in event management, development, sales or marketing
  • Intellectual breadth and experience in fundraising or sales
  • Some design experience
  • Strong writing skills
  • Passion for free enterprise
  • Strong relationships in the philanthropic world
  • Experience working with database platforms like Salesforce a plus
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional evenings

 

Employment:  Full-Time in-person located in Greenwood Village, Colorado.We strive to provide a competitive compensation package.

Salary Range: $57,000-70,000
